Zook

ZOOK is a manufacturer of metal and graphite rupture disks and related over-pressure protection products. ZOOK Rupture Disk Group consists of manufacturing plants and marketing centers located in three countries, on the North American and European continents. ZOOK operates the world’s largest facility dedicated exclusively to the manufacturing of graphite rupture disks. ZOOK's graphite rupture disk origins stem from founder's pioneering efforts into the development of graphite rupture disks for use as overpressure protection devices on graphite heat exchangers during the 1950's. In November 1998, ZOOK strengthened its position in the world's rupture disk markets through the acquisition of the graphite rupture disk business of Metaullics Inc. (product trade named Impervite) In September 1999, ZOOK purchased Process Equipment Limited located in Burlington, Ontario Canada, manufacturers of the Proquip trade name of metal rupture disks. PROQUIP began manufacturing metal rupture disks in 1952. In 2000, ZOOK purchased Rupture Discs International (RDI) a graphite rupture disk manufacturer located in Sheffield, England. The ZOOK Cleveland (USA) facility was awarded the first issuance of an ASME "UD" stamp for graphite disks. Additionally, ZOOK is certified in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 97/23/EC) and can provide marked Graphite Rupture Disks. ZOOK is also certified in accordance to TÜV standards.

Metal Rupture Disks Reverse acting disks offer revolutionary new scoreless and scored non-fragmenting designs for universal use – new ultra low ratings – 90% operating ratios. Forward Acting, Tension Loaded rupture disks perform with the process pressure on the concave side of the rupture disk.

Graphite Rupture Disks disks are made from a single piece of graphite, a high-purity form of carbon, which is impregnated with phenolic resin. The resulting material, called impervious graphite, is impermeable and is resistant to most corrosives.

Low Pressure rupture disks; bi-directional, capable of ruptures as low as 1" water column.

Sanitary Disks install using industry standard clamps, gaskets, inlet and outlet piping. Applications include food processing, dairy, breweries, pharmaceutical, distilling, baking, canning, cosmetics and biotechnology industries.

Transportation Disks Forward Acting, Tension Loaded rupture disks perform with the process pressure on the concave side of the rupture disk.

Explosion Vent Panel are interchangeable with existing vent applications with custom sizes and materials available upon request.

Special application: One-time-use disposable brass unit that comes pre-assembled and tested to meet your relieving pressure requirements. Extruder barrel assemblies are pressure relief devices designed for over-pressure protection of plastic extrusion processes. Bak-Pressure disks provide overpressure protection to equipment within closed piping systems.

Holders: bolted insert type angular and flat, union and screw type; for specific series.

Alarm Sensor compatible with ZOOK or any other manufacturers type of rupture disks.
